Says the Deepcast crew: With each release seeming to out-do the last in the Ben Sun discography, and a musical palette as rich as one of Panorama Bar’s most respected selectors, we know it won’t be long before this debonair Aussie is turning the world on it’s head. In the meantime, let’s enjoy an hour of amazing music and an insight into the world of the talented Ben Sun.

While picking records for this mix an idea came to mind. I kinda knew what sort of tracks I wanted to play and when combined together they started to sound to me like a motion picture soundtrack. From deep and atmospheric gems through some energetic and strong house and techno joints to a more organic and soulful finale. A few tracks taken exclusively form upcoming releases on our new S1 Warsaw imprint and a bunch of other records selected mostly from dusty vinyl crates. Enjoy.

The one called Sun comes through with a live vinyl mix to mark the release of his new EP on Delusions of Grandeur, and showcase a bit of the latest compilation on VR. With upcoming gigs in London and Berlin this month, this is a little taster of what you might expect from Ben behind the decks. Raw for the floor.

The latest talent to join the VR collective is the one they call Etbonz (say it how it looks). Hailing from Portland in the US, Elliot Thomas has an arsenal stacked with analog weaponry which he is due to unleash in a forthcoming release for VR. He recently put together this beautiful mix for us, weaving together a classic selection of melodic, emotional machine funk. Currently on repeat at VRHQ!
